EEPROMs are now an affordable alternative to EPROMs. EEPROMs do not require an ultra-voilet erase cycle before programming as do EPROMs. EEPROMs are erased electrically and are typically "erased and programmed" in just seconds. Cheaper to use, no ultra-violet eraser needed. Faster turnaround! Best for prototyping!
